I’ve written here from time to time about problems in the NHS. Now it seems that many of those who work within it would rather be treated by private medicine. This is surely some of the best possible evidence that the NHS needs urgent, meaningful reform. Of course, if anyone[1] knew exactly what, we’d[2] be doing it already.[3]
[1] For suitable definitions of “anyone” – I’m reminded of the girl in the cafe in Douglas Adam’s Hitchiker’s Guide to the Galaxy series.
[2] Again, for suitable definitions of “we”.
[3] I accept that this last is either rhetorical nonsense or the triumph of hope over experience.
